Starting day 2 of the rally as the fourth of the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup competitors and 21st overall, Molly's day came to an abrupt end on SS13. With dry roads at the start of the stage, Molly's Suzuki hit a wet patch on a fast downhill approach to a left hand corner, and they rolled the car into a field. Both Molly and co-driver, Jemma Bellingham, escaped uninjured from the accident.
Naturally Molly is extremely disappointed with her retirement from the rally but her results in the previous three rounds of the Series prove she will remain a threat to her fellow Swift Sport Cup competitors in the remaining two rounds.
The twisty, narrow Isle of Man roads have caused a number of accidents, with wet tarmac roads making the conditions even more difficult.
The next round of the Swift Sport Cup is the Ulster International Rally on August 21 and 22.
